<![CDATA[The 180 aka The Back Spot Turn (On1)]]><![CDATA[The Cape - Counts and Breakdown (On2)]]>Level: Intermediate I

In this lesson you will learn a Salsa partnerwork technique called the Cape. The Cape is one of those moves that will often come as a surprise to the follower but will definitely bring a smile to her face. The Cape begins with a back break for the leader (left foot stepping back instead of forward) and at this point it is important that the leader has a double hand-shake hold connection with the follower, and that the left-to-left connection is on top. From there, the leader will open up 90 degrees to his left and lead the follower into a half-left turn into the slot. To end, the leader will guide the follower across the slot on two beats, and finish up with a half-right turn for the follower.

The Cape is definitely a flashy move that looks more complicated than it actually is. Give it a try with your partner!

<![CDATA[The 360 - Counts and Breakdown (On2)]]>Level: Intermediate II

In this lesson you will learn a very popular Salsa partnerwork technique called the 360. You will see that the 360 will add a natural flow to your dancing and will help you connect one pattern to another seamlessly.

The 360 always begins with an inside turn for the follower. The inside turn could be led in many ways such as a free spin, a copa exit, or a regular underarm left turn. As the follower is completing her turn, the leader will connect with her back, her right shoulder blade to be precise, and rotate in tandem with her on a full turn to the left. The 360 always ends with a regular cross-body lead.

Definitely a public pleaser!]]>
